China's Rubber Tire Exports Continue Growth Momentum in August 2024
Beijing, September 18, 2024 — The General Administration of Customs of China today released the latest export figures for rubber tires in August 2024, revealing a positive trend with both year-on-year and month-on-month increases in exports.
According to the data, China's total rubber tire exports amounted to 850,000 metric tons in August, marking a 6.6% year-on-year growth. This figure represents an additional 20,000 tons compared to July's exports, indicating sustained momentum in the sector.
In terms of value, the total export amount for rubber tires reached approximately RMB 15.046 billion in August, also registering a 6.6% year-on-year increase.
Within this category, new pneumatic rubber tire exports stood out, totaling 820,000 metric tons, up 6.4% from the same period last year. The export value of these tires amounted to approximately RMB 14.542 billion, with a modest 0.4% year-on-year growth.
On a unit basis, the number of new pneumatic rubber tires exported in August reached 61.86 million pieces, a significant 13.3% increase year-on-year and an additional 1.26 million pieces compared to July.
For the first eight months of 2024, China's cumulative rubber tire exports amounted to 6.19 million metric tons, reflecting a 5.1% year-on-year growth. The cumulative export value for this period stood at approximately RMB 109.186 billion, up 5.5% from the same period in 2023.
Specifically, new pneumatic rubber tires accounted for the majority of these exports, totaling 5.97 million metric tons, a 4.9% year-on-year increase. The cumulative export value of these tires reached RMB 105.165 billion, marking a 5.6% year-on-year growth.
These figures underscore the resilience and competitiveness of China's rubber tire industry in the global market, despite various challenges faced by the international trade landscape. The sustained growth in exports is attributed to the industry's focus on product innovation, quality enhancement, and market diversification strategies.
